Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 1.5 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then toss with cornstarch.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Lower heat to medium. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, water, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Simmer sauce 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return chicken to skillet and toss to coat in sauce.
  7. Cook another 2–3 minutes until sticky and glazed.
  8. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds and serve hot.

Notes

Adjust sweetness or spice to taste. Great over rice or noodles.
