Ingredients
  

Cake Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup strawberry puree or milk
Filling
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp strawberry jam
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar, then add egg and vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and strawberry puree.
  5. Bake 18–20 minutes. Cool completely.
  6. Crumble cake into crumbs.
  7. Mix filling ingredients until smooth.
  8. Fill cake balls, roll, chill, and glaze.

Notes

Chill before glazing for best results.
