Easy Glazed Apple Pie Bars

Buttery apple pie bars layered with spiced apples and finished with a sweet vanilla glaze.

Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter cold, cubed
Apple Filling
  • 4 cups apples peeled and sliced
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp milk

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Combine dry crust ingredients and cut in butter until crumbly. Press most into pan.
  3. Mix apple filling ingredients and spread evenly over crust.
  4. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over apples.
  5. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly. Cool completely.
  6. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled bars.

Notes

Let bars cool fully before slicing for best results.
