Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull Concert Series Sponsored by Cricket Wireless

I participated in Influencer Activation on behalf of Millennial Central for Cricket Wireless. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.

It’s no secret that Nick and I love spending our date nights going to concerts. In the past two years we’ve been to Keith Urban, Billy Joel, Matt Nathanson, John Mayer, Justin Timberlake, and Jay Z…just to name a few. Each concert experience was a different one, all well done and I had an amazing time, but I really think that going to concerts in the summer is the absolute best, at least in New England! Most outdoor venues have tons of activities, rock climbing, food trucks, basically anything you could think of!

I was pretty excited when I found out the Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull were touring together, but unfortunately I was out-of-town the weekend they were in Boston. Since the tour is being sponsored by Cricket Wireless they are really enhancing the fan experience and by setting up some awesome activations and Cricket Wireless aims to give people something to smile about (#STSA)! Take a look at the activations:

  • Cricket Stage – A 10X20 stage erected at select tour stops where fans can hop up on stage and give their best “headliner” pose. Participants can share their 360 images on their social channels via “share kiosks” around the stage. Photos will be entered into a sweepstakes where a winner and 3 guests will get a trip to the Miami Latin Grammy Street Party. All participants of “The Stage” activation receive Cricket ear buds.
  • VIP Meet & Greet – A backstage VIP area will be set up backstage. Meet&Greet participants will get to meet Pitbull or Enrique and take photos on a Cricket step & repeat.
  • Selfie Station - Mirrors in the ladies room encourage fans to snap selfies and post to their social channels. They can take pictures of all the fun they are having at the concert to share with friends.
  • Ask Enrique – Fans can win a trip to the Pitbull and Enrique tour stop in Atlanta, meet Enrique in person and ask him that burning question they have.
  • Hologram Standee Billboards – Located at high-traffic spots within the activation venues, holograms of Enrique and Pitbull will create completely lifelike images of the musician for concert goes to check out!

I don’t know about you, but this sounds like an amazing concert and experience to me! Did you get to experience the tour?

Check out more about this concert series and get pumped up on Facebook and Twitter!

MIMM: Concerts Galore

I have had quite the marvelous few weeks instead of writing lengthy posts about each one, I figured I would give you the highlight reel for this Marvelous Monday link up. Thanks for hosting, Katie!

Last weekend, Nick and I were able to go to the Jay Z/Justin Timberlake show at Fenway Park. I won tickets through a radio twitter concert, which was pretty amazing. We were in the second section back and had a sick view.

Photo 2 6

our view before the show started

Photo 3 4

part of our view during the show. They had a massive set up and huge screens

I loved the show, it was more amazing than I would’ve even imagined, but my hugest issue was the fact that the tickets said the show started at 7, but they had some really annoying dj playing for almost 90 minutes and the show didn’t start until 8:30. My favorite songs of the night were Holy Grail and 99 Problems, Justin playing the part of the cop was amazing.

The following week was crazy, the B man and I headed to Maine with my dad, his wife, her kids, my sister and her boyfriend. Nick was crazy busy at work so unfortunately he couldn’t come. I don’t really have any photos, because we barely had cell or internet so I just ended up leaving my phone in the room the whole time. It was so nice to unplug and relax for a bit.

Friday we had tickets for the John Mayer concert in CT. Front Row.

Photo 4 2
view before the show

John Mayer is hands down my favorite artist. I have seen him almost every single tour, and met him almost 10 years ago. I love seeing him live and this show was absolutely amazing. Philip Philips opened up for him and he was also outstanding. I loved him on American Idol, but you could tell that he felt he was in his element on that stage, singing his music.

Photo 1 7

Then of course John Mayer. You could tell his voice is still not the same, but you could clearly tell all he wanted to do was sing on stage and he was enjoying every minute.

Photo 2 7

His set list for the CT show was awesome. He sang 83 for the first time and hearing the crowd sing along was so moving. This song from his first popular album, it felt like ages since I have heard it live, and everyone in the audience singing together was wonderful.

Photo 4 3

He also sang 4 songs from his new album, due out on Tuesday, and my favorite was “Waiting on the Day” and his encore song was a long version of Gravity, then John and the band left. It is definitely one of the best shows I have seen of his and I am glad I got to share it with Nick.

Then today I was looking online and Nick and I are on the webpage for the Hartford Set List show.

All I do is win, win, win no matter what
Got money on mind, I can never get enough
And every time I step up in the building
Everybody hands go up

Cheap shades and a tattoo

It’s a sip of wine, it’s summertime
Sweet summertime

We were falling in love in the sweet heart of summer
She hopped right up into the cab of my truck and said
“Fire it up, let’s go get this thing stuck”

Down a back road blowin’ stop signs through the middle
Every little farm town with you

SOMETHING OLD
Artist: BRITNEY

Title: …Baby one more time

Side Note: Since I went to high school back in the era where we still bought cd or tape singles, every guy I knew had a thing for the cd single cover for this song, I guess it could be worse ha. I didn’t like Britney at first, but now Britney4ever. (Pace: 6:24)

My loneliness is killin’ me
I must confess I still believe

Side Note: Nick LOVED her song “Love you like a love song” and ever since then I have been inclined to turn up her stuff when it comes on the radio. I’ll know I’ll know I’ll know
Because you love me so…Yeah!

Today’s theme is: Family. I picked bands that have some or all of the members as siblings. I hope you enjoy!

SOMETHING OLD
Artist: Heart

Title: Alone

Side Note: Two of the women are sisters, thought not both are original members. I love a ton of Heart’s songs, so it was hard to pick just one song. However, Alone is the one that is on my playlist the most! (I can also be seen belting this at the top of my lungs in the car FYI)

Quotable:
Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone

Quotable:
Mama always told me that I should play nice
She didn’t know you when she gave me that advice
I’m through, with you
You’re one bridge I’d like to burn
Bottle up the ashes, smash the urn

I don’t wanna be part of your fun,
Don’t wanna be under your thumb
All I wanna be is…done

SOMETHING TO CONSIDER
Artist: Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR)

Title: Fortunate Son

Side Note: I don’t know that this song hits many running playlists, but it has gotten me pumped since high school, like the angry kind of pumped. The Fogerty brothers were both a part of CCR and are amazing!

Quotable:
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,
Lord, don’t they help themselves, oh.
But when the taxman comes to the door,
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes

Playlist Thursday: Your first playlist

It’s that time of the week again. Time to link up with Pavement Runner. This is an awesome link up I always try to partake in because I get to see songs that I might not have otherwise heard of and I always end up adding at least one song to my running playlist. Make sure you head over to Pavement Runner to check out everyone else who contributed this week.

Playlist thursday teal

Today’s theme is: Your FIRST playlist. I thought this was a brilliant idea. Although I didn’t have an iPod until I was a junior in college, when talking to Abby on twitter, we reminisced about listening to the radio and trying to catch our favorite songs so we could tape them. Ah, the good ol’ days. So for my first playlist I am going to use the songs that pumped us up on the soccer bus! I love this, because this was the era when music videos were awesome, they had concepts and treatments, and they were fun to watch.

SOMETHING OLD
Artist: Blackstreet

Title: No Diggity

Side Note: This was a song we listened to over and over and over. I won’t pretend that I don’t still listen to it, I can pick it out by the first 3 or 4 notes. Please watch the video if not for the outfits of the 90’s. Overalls at middle school dances? Anyone?

Quotable:
She’s got class and style
Street knowledge by the pound,
Baby never act wild
Very low key on the profile
Catching villains is a no,
Let me tell you how it goes
Curves the words, spins the verbs
Lovers it curves so freak what you heard

SOMETHING CURRENT
Artist: Destiny’s Child

Title: Jumpin’ Jumpin’

Side Note: My best friends used to always play this song for me. Sophomore year in high school was a really low year for me and I was in a funk for months, she would always blare this on the drive home. If you are reading this, Jill and Caty – you were my lifesavers! This was before Beyonce got all diva!

Quotable:
Ladies leave your man at home
The club is full of ballers
And they pockets full grown
And all you fellas leave your girl
With her friends
‘Cause it’s 11:30, and the club is
Jumpin’, jumpin’

SOMETHING TO CONSIDER
Artist: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Title: Otherside

Side Note: I may be a boyband lover for life, I also really love rock music. I mean I love all music but I have love RHCP forever. This song was really popular during my soccer trips.

Quotable:
Turn me on, take me for a hard ride
Burn me out, leave me on the otherside
I yell and tell it that
It’s not my friend
I tear it down I tear it down
And then it’s born again

My mama came from a softer generation
Where you get a grip and bite your lip just to save a little face

Find how to turn things around
Now things are looking up
From the ground up

She’s a hot little number in her pick-up truck
Daddy’s sweet money done jacked it up
She’s a party-all-nighter from South Carolina, a bad mamajama from down in Alabama
She’s a raging cajun, a lunatic from Brunswick, juicy Georgia peach
With a thick southern drawl, sexy swingin’ walk, brother she’s all

Country, from her cowboy boots to her down home roots
She’s country, from the songs she plays to the prayers she prays,
That’s the way she was born and raised, she ain’t afraid to stay, country
Brother she’s country

How did it, come so fast?
This is our last night but it’s late
And I’m trying not to sleep
Cause I know, when I wake, I will have to slip away

SOMETHING TO CONSIDER

Title: Runaway Baby

Side Note: I LOVE Bruno Mars, he is one of my favorite artists of our generation. Although, I tend to like his non-singles more than the released singles, runaway baby is one of my favorites.

Run, run, runaway, runaway, baby
Before I put my spell on you
You better get, get, getaway, getaway, darling
‘Cause everything you heard is true
