Slow Cooker Chili

This isn’t a pinterest recipe, but one I make a lot. I will get back to the pinterest recipes asap, I have many for Thanksgiving.

Fall and Winter are perfect for using your crock pot/slow cooker. I think for the past 5 years I have made this one recipe for my husband and I at least twice a month during the cold season.

For ingredients you need:
1 medium onion
A few cloves of garlic, I use about 5 or 6, but it’s up to you
1.5 lbs of ground turkey, you can use beef, we just prefer turkey.
1 can of each bean: black, kidney, cannelini
1 can of corn, not sweetened or creamed, or a small frozeen bag
1 small can of tomato sauce (not the 8 oz can, the 6 or 4 oz)
Shredded Cheese, I use Whole Foods, cheddar jack mix
Chili seasoning
Spices to season the meat.

I finely chop the onion and garlic, throw them in a pan to brown, then I toss in the turkey. I season with salt, pepper and chili seasoning.

I throw the tomato sauce, beans and corn in the crock pot and stir.

Then I add the cheese and the chili seasoning packet and stir again.

Once the meat is cooked, I drain the liquid and throw it in the crock pot as well. I mix the meat with everything else, until it seems evenly mixed.

You can cook it for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.

Enjoy!
