30 Day Song Challenge: Day 8

I have seen this song challenge on many other blogs or facebook and twitter. The idea is to share a tiny bit of yourself by choosing a song. The idea is to choose a song every day, but for the purpose of the blog I am going to choose once a week.

The eighth day is a song that you know all the words to. Since I already picked “We didn’t start the fire” a few weeks ago, I will have to find something better. I picked “Konstantine” by Something Corporate. I have loved this song since my early college days and it will never get old.

Today’s Question: What’s a song you know all the words to?

32!

Today, I am 32 weeks along and the baby is the size of a large jicama, seriously babycenter you couldn’t pick a more obscure item!? Babycenter says the baby 17 inches long, weighs about 4 pounds, he is going to gain one-third to one-half of his weight in the next 8 weeks. He also now has toenails, fingernails and hair (or peach fuzz).

How far along?: 32 weeks 1 day.

Total weight gain/loss: I am up 1 pound from last week, which puts my total at +17.

Best moment this week: This week was pretty low-key, although baby did have hiccups for the first time, very weird feeling.

Movement: As he gets bigger, there is less room for him to move around, so now it sort of feels like he’s trying to push his feet or hands out of my stomach.

Stretch Marks: I have a few on my belly, but that’s expected. I am not going to worry about it.

The Bump: This was the best 32 week photo I could get alone. So ignore the sweet sweat stains and mirror that needs to be cleaned :)<img src=”http://static.squarespace.com/static/510b25b0e4b0db1a646139e4/510b2606e4b02dc85b30bad6/510b260ae4b02dc85b30c427/1306523827183/IMG_1445.jpg” alt=”IMG 1445″ title=”IMG_1445.jpg” border=”0″ width=”448″ height=”600″

What I’m excited about/looking forward to: I am waiting on the furniture to be able to do anything more with his room.

Maternity Clothes: Pretty much leggings and maternity tops now, I have a few pairs of maternity shorts and a bathing suit. I know you’re jealous.

Symptoms: Now that it’s getting warm, I am a sweat machine. Remind me next time that I do not want to have a baby in the middle of the summer. I have also nicknamed the baby lung crusher, because I get winded so easily. Walking up from the garage and then 4 flights to the condo leaves me breathless, its crazy. Also, because my torso is so short, the back pain is insane. It almost feels like the baby is pulling my entire body forward by my belly button.

Food cravings: I cannot have enough watermelon. And milkshakes. This is still the same.

Food aversions: Nothing seems to make my stomach turn anymore.

Gender: BOY!

Sleep: Sleeping is still pretty good, though I have to switch sides frequently to avoid sore hips.

Labor Signs: Nothing yet.

Belly Button in or out?: Surprisingly still an inny. I don’t know if it will pop.

What I miss: Sleeping on my tummy and sushi.

Milestones: My mother-in-law came up to paint his room, so that’s done. I don’t think we hit any other milestones this week.

Now I am looking forward to a low-key holiday weekend. The first time in years Nick and I don’t have plans.

Today’s Question: What are you doing this weekend?

Five Things Friday

Today’s Five Things Friday is dedicated to things I wish I had known.

1. I wish I had known that the baby furniture stores around here quote delivery as 8-14 weeks from order date. I probably would have ordered my furniture more than 8 weeks prior to my due date.

2. I wish I would have known that you get really winded after 5 flights of stairs, then maybe I wouldn’t have pushed for the 3rd floor condo…

3. I wish I would’ve known how insanely hot Nick’s computer makes the living room. It’s like a sauna + the incinerator in my belly + the summer heat kicking in. At least we know the AC bill will be high the first half of this summer.

4. I wish I had known that some people are just plain rude, regardless of pregnancy or not. Someone gave me their seat on the T yesterday and the guy next to me got all pissy because I took up too much space and elbowed me in the arm… Who does that?

5. I wish I had realized ALLL of the food restrictions, eating out while still eating healthy is a struggle sometimes.

Today’s Question: What’s something you wish you had known this week?

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 7

I have seen this song challenge on many other blogs or facebook and twitter. The idea is to share a tiny bit of yourself by choosing a song. You’re supposed to choose a song every day, but for the purpose of the blog I am going to choose once a week.

The seventh day is a song that reminds you of a certain event. For this week I picked “November Rain” by Guns N Roses. Surprisingly, this was our prom song, not quite what one would deem an appropriate prom song, huh?

Today’s Question: What was your prom song?

Five Things Friday

Today’s Five Things Fridays is a picture edition.

31!

I decided for the next two months to give everyone a look inside my pregnancy. For the first five months I was a miserable bag of nausea and did not want tell anyone about it. Since our baby shower we have been getting a lot of questions about the baby, so I figured I would address them here.

Today, I am 31 weeks along and the baby is the size of four navel oranges! Babycenter says the baby 16 inches long, weighs about 3.3 pounds and is heading into a growth spurt.

How far along?: 31 weeks 1 day.

Total weight gain/loss:

Best moment this week: Sunday was our baby shower, but I am looking forward to the nursery getting painted on Saturday and ordering our furniture!

Movement: This little guy likes to boogie. He loves music and he loves being awake when momma wants to sleep, lets hope that this isn’t an indicator of what’s to come.

Stretch Marks: I have a few on my belly, but that’s expected. I am not going to worry about it.

The Bump:

This is from my shower on Sunday!

What I’m excited about/looking forward to: The Baby’s room and being able to start putting things away in HIS room.

Maternity Clothes: I am just starting to out grow my regular clothes. I pretty much live in leggings/yoga pants, but I have been able to wear my regular tanks, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. The tanks and sweatshirts are starting to look a little ridiculous. I am just glad I lasted this long. Now if only the weather would warm up so I can wear dresses.

Symptoms: Not really anything abnormal. My stomach is itchy, and I use my wonderful new SNOOGLE at night, it has seriosuly transformed my sleeping. Also, a lot of back pain from the weight.

Food cravings: I cannot have enough watermelon. And milkshakes.

Food aversions: Nothing seems to make my stomach turn anymore.

Gender: BOY!

Sleep: It was rough, until I got Snoogle. Now I wake up only to use the bathroom.

Labor Signs: Nothing yet.

Belly Button in or out?: Surprisingly still an inny. I don’t know if it will pop.

What I miss: Sleeping on my tummy and sushi.

Milestones: Sunday will be 2 months from my due date, holy cow!

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 6

I have seen this song challenge on many other blogs or facebook and twitter. The idea is to share a tiny bit of yourself by choosing a song. The idea is to choose a song every day, but for the purpose of the blog I am going to choose once a week.

The sixth day is a song that reminds you of somewhere. For this week I picked “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder. It reminds me of when we were in Vegas for mine and Nick’s Bachelor/Bachelorette and Nick had a lot of wine and did his best impersonation.

Today’s Question: What song reminds you of a place you travelled to?

Five Things Friday

Today’s Five Things Friday is dedicated to what I am looking forward to this weekend.

1. Cake Tasting. My sister-in-law is getting married in 2012 and we are going cake testing this weekend, it’s a tough job :)!

2. Wings. I am not the biggest fan of wings, with that said there is a place near UConn that is amazing! I will be having my fair share.

3. Watermelon. I have been wanting watermelon since I got pregnant, this weekend I will be eating my weight in watermelon.

4. BABY SHOWER! This weekend is my baby shower. I cannot wait to spend time with my amazing friends and family.

5. Spending time with my sister, I haven’t seen my sister in months and probably won’t until baby b is born, and my best friend. The 3 are back in action – watch out.
